4000 Miles Along the Appalachian Trail

Mountains, Madness, Miracles
4,000 miles Along the Appalachian Trail

Blissful dreamed of an Appalachian Trail hike for thirty years.

And then she completes an incredible feat...

completing the Appalachian Trail northbound with her teenage son...

...AND southbound as a solo hiker.

Along the trail are real challenges, but the miracles witnessed in this double journey of "madness" brings forth a spiritual awakening to what matters most in life.

4,000 miles of AT adventure - all in one book!

Questions at the end for personal and group reflection - great for reading groups.

What These Noted Authors and Adventurers are Saying about Mountains, Madness, and Miracles!!

Jennifer Pharr Davis (author, speaker, and world record holder for fastest supported hike of the Appalachian Trail) - "Bliss shows us that miracles abound in the wilderness. And she demonstrates that following your own path is not as crazy as it may seem. Mountains, Madness, and Miracles proves that every journey is filled with providence and grace if we know where to look for it."

The late Bill Irwin (the first blind hiker to complete the trail with his dog Orient in 1990 and author of Blind Courage) - "I cannot even imagine anyone else who had so many obstacles to encounter than Lauralee, and she did it like a champ. You must read this great and inspiring book;  it will literally change your life!"

Paul Stutzman (thru hiker and author of Hiking Through, Revell Books) - "In Mountains, Madness, and Miracles the reader will be taken on an emotional roller coaster that is the Appalachian Trail. Just as in life there are peaks and valleys awaiting your journey. Whether you are an armchair reader or planning a hike of the 2,184 mile trail, this book explains in vivid details what it takes to accomplish such a life changing adventure. The pain, the emotions, and the spiritual applications will keep you turning pages."

Lauralee worked five years as the ridgerunner for Shenandoah National Park through the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club. She is the founder of the Facebook groups Appalachian Trail Section Hikers with over 18,000 members and Shenandoah National Park Hikers. She is a member of ATC, PATC, and ALDHA. In her spare time, Lauralee also likes to write inspirational fiction and has over 20 published titles to her credit.

I guest speak on a variety of topics or I can lead an all day workshop for a reasonable rate. I offer both adult and children's programs on hiking and the Appalachian Trail. I have spoken for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, Potomac Appalachian Trail Club, REI, Rockfish Gap Outfitters, Trail Dames, Shenandoah National Park ranger programs, Boy Scouts of America, many library events, and school groups.
